Otago Central Rail Trail

Middlemarch

Middlemarch at one end of the Rail Trail is a rural township in the StrathTaieri Valley within Dunedin City's hinterland limits. It is an hour's scenic drive from Dunedin.

Clyde

Clyde is at the other end of the Rail Trail in what was a large gorge now at the base of the equally large Clyde Hydro Dam.

Otago Goldfields Heritage Trust

The Otago Goldfields Heritage Trail follows SH85 from Dunedin through Central Otago to Queenstown often crossing the Otago Central Rail Trail.  The province is rich in early gold mining & pioneering history with many historical sites find some of these interesting and special places in Otago New Zealand.

Taieri Gorge Railway
