Now that this unique part of New Zealand has been reborn as a year-round cycling and walking track, eTOURS invites you to make this incomparable journey under your own steam. No cars, no trucks, and NO tour buses make the Rail Trail a great place to cycle.

eTOURS have been associated with the Otago Central Rail Trail since its creation, so we know it like the back of our hand. We’ve given loads of people an experience they’ll never forget, and now it’s your turn.

The Otago Central Rail Trail is an experience that anyone can enjoy, so even if it’s been a while between bike rides, our team have the experience to create a trip that will have you hooked and coming back for more!

eTOURS offers you the choice of short or long cycling packages, or a customised experience tailored just for you. You can select Dunedin, Queenstown, Wanaka, Clyde or Alexandra as your pick-up and/or drop-off point. You can choose to travel to and from the Trail by miniBus or The Taieri Gorge Railway Excursion Train. Let us know what you prefer and we will make it happen.

eTOURS will be there with the bikes, the beds and the backup. Cycling is our passion and the Otago Central Rail Trail is our backyard. We work behind the scenes, using our extensive local knowledge, to give you the very best Rail Trail experience.
eTOURS bikes are designed specifically for the Otago Central Rail Trail by former NZ Cycling Representatives.

 the largest bike company in the South Island provides us with customised mountain bikes, built for the job. Our bikes have saddles with gel coating for comfort where it counts and, before you set out, our experienced eTOURS technicians will spend time adjusting the bike so you can have the best ride possible. Helmets, cycle repair kits, maps and information are also provided when you book with eTOURS.

After a day out on the Trail, you’ll be ready for the warm Otago welcome at the charming rural hotels and motels we have selected. Sampling the local food and wine is all part of the experience, so bring your appetite!
